Statutory Powers

As a local Healthwatch, our staff and volunteers are Authorised Representatives, with the power to enter the premises of health and social care providers that are fully - or even partly - publicly funded.

Enter & View

Enter and View is the statutory power granted to every local Healthwatch, established in law by the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007, and amended by the Health and Social Care Act 2012.

As a local Healthwatch, our staff and volunteers are Authorised Representatives, with the power to enter the premises of health and social care providers that are fully - or even partly - publicly funded.

Our role is to observe the nature and quality of services, and most importantly, to speak to those using the service to get their views and feedback.
