About this event
Ageing Well Festival 2023 will take place from 29 September to 13 October. This year’s theme is Expanding Horizons and Linking Lives, which was decided in collaboration with our Lived Experience Advisory Group.
Back in 2013 we celebrated the contributions older people make to our city, coinciding with the United Nations International Day of Older Persons. We did this by staging 16 different interactive events over 2 days, which proved to be a roaring success.
Building on this initial success, we have continued to celebrate this important day by growing into a two-week festival and changed its name from the Older People’s Festival to the Ageing Well Festival in 2019 to better reflect its nature and our aim.
An ever increasing number of organisations, businesses and individuals take part each year. Last year, we planned to hold our biggest Ageing Well Festival yet.
We offered an eclectic range of events so that there was something to suit everyone’s tastes, so that people were able to meet like-minded others, make new connections, and enjoy celebrating all of the above.
