March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month. In the Surrey and Sussex areas, women are being diagnosed at a much later stage of ovarian cancer compared with national figures. This late-stage diagnosis reduces their chances of survival.

The HOPs project was developed as part of the Healthwatch, Brighton and Hove City Council and NHS response to COVID-19 but is available to Brighton and Hove residents discharged from hospital whatever their condition, COVID related or not.

During Lockdown 2, Healthwatch in Sussex launched a ‘Tell Us – Ask Us’ campaign to encourage and support members of the public to Tell us about their experience of accessing health and care services and to ask us what they needed during this time.

Healthwatch England have announced a dental crisis as a result of local Healthwatch, including Brighton and Hove, sharing concerns from local people trying to access dental services during the pandemic.

These are the board papers for the Board of Directors meeting held on 8th February 2021. The meeting was held online using Zoom.

In 2020, we undertook 106 phone interviews to explore people's opinions of accessing health and social care services during the pandemic. In December 2020 we interviewed some of these people - Hear what they had to say about remote appointments.
