Ofsted begins SEND Inspection in Brighton & Hove

Brighton & Hove SEND Ofsted Inspection
Ofsted

Brighton & Hove City Council today received notification from Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) that a local area inspection for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) will take place during the next three weeks (13 March – 31 March). The purpose of the inspection is to provide an independent, external evaluation of the effectiveness of the local arrangements for children and young people with SEND. See Amaze’s recent newsletter article on the SEND Inspection Framework for more information.

An important part of the inspection process is a survey of parent carers of all children and young people with SEND aged 0-25, and of children and young people themselves. These two surveys are LIVE and remain open for 6 working days only, closing 9am Tues 21st March. It is essential that inspectors hear directly from families via these surveys, about things that are going well and where support needs to improve.  Please can you help spread word of the opportunity for families to have their say.
