100,000 Sussex patients are now registered with a GP online
The NHS has reached a major milestone, with more than one million people across England now registered with a GP practice online. In Sussex, almost 100,000 patients have used this service since its launch.

GP online
The digital registration service, which launched in November 2022, allows people to register with a GP in just a few minutes using any of the following access points:
- NHS App
- NHS.uk
- Practice websites.
They do not need to visit a surgery, bring identification or proof of address, or even know their NHS number.
Benefits for patients and surgeries
Practices in Sussex have reported time savings and reduced queues at reception desks, with patients appreciating the flexibility of registering at a time and place that suits them.
