Grosvenor Lodge

Grosvenor Lodge is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 31 people over the age of 65. There were 27 people living at the home on the day of inspection. Some people had specialist needs associated with dementia. This inspection was carried out due to previous breaches and the age of the previous rating.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) found enough improvements had been made, and the provider was no longer in breach of any regulations. There were good systems and audits in place and there was a good oversight over the service, the managers were both capable and knowledgeable about the service and the people living there.

Staff knew people's care needs and how best to support them, feedback from staff and relatives evidenced this. All feedback from people and relatives was positive about staff kindness and the rapport people had with the staff. The managers worked hard to ensure that staff retention was good, and staff enjoyed their jobs, some had worked at Grosvenor Lodge for many years.

Staff shared how they felt valued and supported by the management team. Time and attention had been given to ensuring people's interests were catered for, developed and explored. For example, people went on trips that were tailored to their interests such as swimming or to the local airport. Staff had a good level of understanding of how to keep people safe and supported people to take positive risks.

Comments included:
