Developmental well-led review: University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust

Commenting on the review, Healthwatch Brighton and Hove CEO, Alan Boyd, said:

"Healthwatch were interviewed as part of this independent review and we provided honest and candid views about the current status of University Hospital Sussex, drawing on patient voice and experience, our series of Enter & Views and regular meetings with staff. 

"Healthwatch has a strong working relationship with the trust who welcome our insights, support our engagement, and embed them into continuous service improvement. We therefore particularly welcome Recommendation 18 of the report which states: 'Service changes implemented as part of the Strategy Delivery Plan must be co-produced with patients, and specific attention given to potential health inequalities'. 

"The trust recognises the scale of the challenge ahead and we will remain a critical, independent friend to support its journey and transition."
