Mental Health Awareness Week 2026
Mental health awareness
Everyone has 'mental health', just as we all have 'physical health'. And like our physical health, there are times when our mental health is better than others.
Prevention is better than cure, and the Mental Health Foundation hopes to help people look after their mental health, prevent more serious problems from developing, and help everyone live mentally healthy lives.
Getting help with your mental health
Mental Health Awareness Week
The Mental Health Foundation has chosen Action as this year's theme for Mental Health Awareness Week because, while awareness is vital, real change comes when we take action too. Together, we’ve come a long way on mental health, but we can’t risk going backwards. There’s still much we can do to prevent people becoming unwell in the first place.
Whether you're looking for a quick boost or something to help form long-term healthy habits, there are lots of actions you can take today to improve your mental health.
Walking for Wellbeing
Are you interested in being more active but are unsure or anxious how to start? Join Mind in Brighton and Hove for their new 5 Ways to Wellbeing Walking Programme.
Each week, for five weeks, their Mental Health Advice Team will lead a relaxed and gentle one-hour walk giving you the opportunity to get outdoors and connect with others, as well as sharing tips and learning how 'The Five Ways to Wellbeing' can support your mental health and wellbeing.
Their sixth session will be an opportunity for people to meet and think about how to incorporate these strategies in their everyday lives, and to develop personalised Five Ways to Wellbeing plans. They will also celebrate the end of the programme and enjoy share some refreshments.
