Important news for patients and visitors to St Peter’s Health Centre & the permanent closure of our Albion St branch site

"Latest new on our new premises

The latest date for the opening of Phase 2 of our new premises is the Spring 2022.

Albion Street Surgery will be moving to Oxford Street from 29 January 2024

Dear patient

We are writing to inform you that  Albion Street surgery is permanently closing at the close of business on Wednesday 24 January 2024,  and all appointments will take place at our Oxford Street practice: 30-36 Oxford St, Brighton and Hove, Brighton BN1 4LA.

As you may be aware, we are in the process of redeveloping our Oxford Street health centre, however due to a delay in the construction work, which is outside of our control, the second phase of the redevelopment is not yet complete. We now need to vacate the Albion Street site but would like to reassure our patients that although the new development is not fully complete, we are confident that all GP services will continue to run as normal from our current Oxford Street branch and your care will not be interrupted.

The second phase of the redevelopment is due to be fully completed in Spring 2024. Once completed, the new, purpose-built health centre will be fully equipped for providing modern and high-quality services. The new health centre will have more consulting rooms, an accessibility lift, improved waiting rooms and reception area. We are also looking forward to making use of the large group education room which can be divided into two that we hope will be used by our community.  The additional consulting rooms will give as the space we need to work towards becoming a training practice once again.

We would like to thank you for your patience while the building work is completed. If you have any questions or queries about the new development and the move to Oxford Street, please get in touch by emailing :

Best wishes

St Peter’s Health Centre team"

"Important news for patients and visitors to St Peter’s Health Centre - Latest news on our new premises "The contractors working on our premises are in the process of changing. This unfortunately has slowed progress and we are now looking at completion in 2024, most likely around Feb or March. "We are sorry about this and I'm sure you will appreciate that this is completely out of our control. "Therefore we will not be closing our Albion Street site as early as anticipated."
