Healthwatch Brighton and Hove Annual Performance Report 2023 (1st April 2023 and 31st March 2024)

Headlines:

• Gathered patient opinions on initiatives to transform outpatient services, maternity services, cervical screening, pharmaceutical services, digital services and dementia.
• Championed the patient voice to ensure this was reflected in the recommissioning of Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services for Sussex, receiving praise for our work. 
• Escalated issues including: about local GP services and the police removing support to follow up on absconders from local hospital and stopping carrying out welfare checks.
• Helped to shape the Integrated Care System's Delivery Plan.
• Received 365 information line enquiries with the main area being raising a concern or negative experiences about a service (197 people), raising formal complaints (31 people), requesting information (92 people) and making compliments about a service (40 people).
• Two of our projects (on dentistry and GP services) were recognised and included in the Healthwatch England annual report.
• Attended or hosted 10 events with members of the public.
• Publicised over 40 events.
• Carried out two Enter & Views and seven visits as part of PLACE.
• Published 31 reports, engaging 1163 people, and producing 60 recommendations.
• Produced 9 newsletters and numerous bulletins.
• Attended 92 Board level meetings.
• Attended 719 decision-making meetings (excluding Board).
• Received 23,0000 website page views.
• Published a work plan of our projects.
