Annual Performance Report: April 1st 2025 – March 31st 2026

Performance report

This report provides an overview of our activities, influence and impact over the last year. This information is presented in six sections:

1. Intelligence – issues that we have heard about that are in need of improvement and our helpline data and trends.
2. Activity – number of Enter and Views (visits to health and social care services) and Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE) visits, joint projects with Healthwatch East- and West-Sussex,  website and social media activity and trends (including newsletter and mailshot distribution), issues shared with Healthwatch England, events publicised and number of decision-making meetings attended including Boards.
3. Outputs – details of the 32 reports we have produced and numbers we have engaged over the last year (3267).
4. Influence – impacts from attending decision-making meetings.
5. Impact – progress made regarding a protected characteristic group, percentage of recommendations influencing service improvement, three examples of studies with long-term change, and economic, environmental and social value performance.
6. Support – safeguarding referrals raised, referrals to NHS complaints and advocacy support, feedback from neighbouring Healthwatch and Healthwatch England, best-practice advice for commissioners (e.g. questionnaire design), and a link to our decision-making policy.
