The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and NHS England (NHSE) are working to establish a new online service – ‘NHS Online’ - which will deliver online elective care as part of the NHS. When the establishment of any NHS Trust is being considered, there is a duty on the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care to first consult with the relevant local Healthwatch.

Healthwatch Brighton and Hove six-month Performance Report 2025 (1st April 2025 to September 30th 2025).

Healthwatch in Sussex wanted to better understand experiences of NHS support for children's learning needs in Sussex, to support and amplify the views and experiences highlighted by community partners.

We attended the unit in response to findings from a 2024 survey (PREM), led by The UK Kidney Association in partnership with Kidney Care UK, to listen to patients’ concerns in more depth.

The project purpose was to hear about the experiences and inequity of refugees and asylum seekers in accessing health services and receiving care. In partnership with Sanctuary on Sea, Healthwatch heard from 49 refugees and asylum seekers across Brighton and Hove, through focus groups and a survey.

The aim of this research was to find out about children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and their parents and carer’s experiences of vaping, in Brighton and Hove.

In September 2025, Healthwatch in Sussex sought people’s experiences of recent changes to GP practices, including using technology to access health services and the introduction of new staff roles.
