Have your say on a new research study on hip fractures

Has anyone you know broken his or her hip? Duncan Barron, Senior Research Fellow, Patient & Public Involvement (PPI) Lead NIHR Research Design Service South East & Brighton & Sussex University Hospital Trust (BSUH) are looking to improve the treatment of these fractures. Can you help them design a new research study?

websiteWhat is involved?

As they develop new study ideas, they would like to make sure they listen to patients at all stages of the research. You will be asked to advise and contribute to:

  • Help the researchers to ask the right questions and raise important issues which matter to patients who sustain broken hips
  •  Join the research team for regular meetings to discuss the study as it evolves
  • Reviewing documents written for patients
  • Help to plan how to recruit patients into the study

Next steps:

They plan to hold a meeting Thursday 2nd April from 5.30 to 7pm at the Audrey Emerton Building, Royal Sussex County Hospital, Eastern Road.

Refreshments will be provided, and expenses reimbursed including travel. You also will be paid you for your time.

This is an invitation to share your views and ideas about this new study; you are not going to be asked to take part in the research.
